Ingredients
- 12 chicken wings
- 3/4 cup plain flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 cup salted butter
- 1/2 cup Franks's Red Hot Sauce
Directions
- Step 1
- Put all the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix them together thoroughly.
- Step 2
- Roll the wings in the flour mix and put them on a greased baking sheet in the fridge for an hour or so (or overnight if you prefer)
- Step 3
- Melt the butter, you can do this in the microwave (around 20 seconds at full power) or in a heavy bottomed pan.
- Step 4
- Whisk the hot sauce thoroughly with the butter until it is fully mixed together. It should be silky smooth, a lighter orange than the hot sauce.
- Step 5
- Put half of the hot sauce in a bowl and roll the wings in them until they are fully covered.
- Step 6
- Bake the wings for 40 minutes at 200° Celsius (190° fan) or 392° Fahrenheit, turning after 20 minutes
- Step 7
- Finish by rolling the wings in the remaining hot sauce/butter mix. You can heat it again first if you prefer.
Variations
If you have a basting brush then you can baste with extra sauce half way through. This will result in less crispy, slightly hotter wings.
